Androscoggin’s Board of Directors has created the Julie Shackley Memorial Scholarship Endowment for Nursing Education for Androscoggin employees who wish to pursue or advance their professional education in nursing.
Two applicants will be awarded each year. Scholarship amounts will be $2,000 each, distributed $1,000 per semester. The nursing scholarship is named in memory – and in honor – of Julie Shackley, R.N., MSN, who served as the President and CEO at Androscoggin from 2005 to 2016. She was a clinician at heart and spent many years caring for patients, practicing primarily in home health care and hospice.
Julie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1980, and earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing in 1997, both at the University of Southern Maine. She was an advocate for quality and professional development working for several years at Androscoggin as the supervisor of Staff Development before ascending to executive leadership. Androscoggin President and CEO, Kenneth Albert, RN, Esq. said, “The endowment scholarship honors Julie’s commitment to the nursing profession, specifically education as a professional development tool. It further recognizes and honors the education and skill necessary to provide high quality health care at home.”

Remember a loved one while supporting end-of-life care at the Androscoggin Hospice House
A commemorative brick terrace borders the gardens of the Androscoggin Hospice House and is dedicated as a positive and transformative step towards healing. Each brick is a quiet reminder of someone who has left an imprint on their lives.
By ordering an engraved brick you create a lasting memory that honors a loved one, and directly supports essential patient and family services.
Bricks may be ordered any time throughout the year, but they are engraved and added to the garden only once a year. Every spring Androscoggin hosts an annual dedication ceremony for newly laid bricks.
Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice is a 501 (c)-(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
